CICC’s first Cricket Tournament was an excellent event. It was so much fun. We got to meet so many people and played some good cricket.

Like many, I was playing after so long. Some players were obviously professionals, others knew how to bat and bowl and a few needed to be reminded of the rules of game.

We had some matches that were very tight. The first match was won by a single run but other matches were very much a one sided affair. Even some records were set with 96 runs in 8 overs and at one point 16 wides were bowled in one over.

The facilities at the University of Essex Cricket Ground were great. From the pitch, practice pitch, changing facilities to the scoring and umpiring, it was all very professional and well organised.

A big thank you to all who attended and especially to the organisers. We are feeling more and more like a ‘Community’ in the real sense of the word. Here’s to hoping for more future fun events.
